As much as I like mixing patterns and colours, I also like the simplicity of monochromatic outfits. This is an almost full H&M look. Skirt, top, and headband are from H&M, scarf is handmade from Argentina, and shoes are vintage. C’est tout. JD

Simple Navy Lace
Just hanging out along a bring wall. Vitamin D shining in my face. My navy lace top is from H&M, and I especially love the button detailing along the back. Red hat is from Glam Girl, jeans are by Rich & Skinny, and my leather clutch is vintage/my ma’s. Have a great day! JD
A Sunny Winter Day
Yesterday I decided to have a beach day in the middle of winter. I took a stroll down Lake Erie in Port Colborne and took a few shots along the way. My red jacket is from Winners, hat is vintage/my mom’s, jeans are by Rich & Skinny, and my boots and bag are by Cole Haan. Hope you enjoyed the sunny winter day. JD

Jason Wu For Target
I had the pleasure of attending the Jason Wu for Target event yesterday morning at their pop-up shop on King West. I’m usually not one to get hyped about designer collaborations with mainstream retailers, but this one was legit and I was pleasantly surprised! The pieces were pretty and feminine, and made me want to dress up and go for a spring walk while holding tulips in my hand. The best part was good quality material and affordable prices.
Jason Wu spoke to a crowd of excited fashion media and bloggers, and famed stylist Brad Goreski was in attendance too! Looking forward to the real Target stores. Sweetness. JD

The Wild West
Just got back from an amazing trip out west and I’m missing the mountain air. I stayed in Canmore and went snowboarding four days in a row – Sunshine Village, Kicking Horse, Lake Louise, and back to Sunshine. The views were incredible, it was sunny, and the weather was pretty mild. I’ve always wanted to experience those spots….it adds to my Canadian credibility.
I was a bit scared on the steeps and hurt my knee on a rock, but I’m still in one piece so all is good. Here are a few of my favourite shots….

Red Check & Tangerine
Have you noticed it’s difficult to find a cheerful sweater? Take a look around and you’ll notice every sweater in almost every store is black or grey, or some variation of black and grey combined. Why is that? Don’t get me wrong, I adore grey sweaters, but I think it’s necessary to inject some colour into our lives!
So when I saw this tangerine number at Joe Fresh, I had to get it. It was on sale, and it made me smile. I layered a vintage red check shirt underneath (from Bungalow in Kensington Market), and threw on my Rich and Skinny jeans. Boots are H&M and all my accessories are a mix of new and old in true JD style.

Gotye At Sound Academy
My week finished off nicely with an invite to see Gotye up close and personal at Sound Academy last night. It was a secret show hosted by the Edge and it was amazing! By now I’m sure you’ve all heard of Gotye – he’s a musician from Australia with the hit song ‘somebody that I used to know.’ I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like that song. It’s magical.
I only knew one song going into the show and didn’t know what else to expect. Turns out his other songs are just as intriguing. I loved his sound and vibe. He just seemed like a really cool guy. Plus I love that his voice sounds like Sting.
He’s coming back in March ya’ll. Go get your tix before they’re gone. JD
