The floral blazer is one of my top must haves for the spring season. I was on the hunt for the perfect floral blazer for quite some time and finally approved of this one the moment I saw it on Aritzia’s website. It was a birthday gift to myself. I paired it with my Levi’s cut offs, grey tights from Joe Fresh, and a basic white t-shirt from Zara. Cole Haan shoes and a black vintage purse complete the look. I hope to get a lot of wear out of this one. JD

Spent the day strolling the ocean in sunny BC! These pictures were taken in Kitsilano beach and I definitely look like a lumberjack. Denim shirt from Zara, puffy vest from Joe Fresh, and plaid jacket from Aritzia. It’s not as warm as the heat wave in Toronto, but the sight of mountains makes up for it. Enjoy your weekend! JD

One of my all time favourite designers is Brunello Cucinelli. He’s from Italy and I had the opportunity of meeting him a few years ago. Brunello began his collection in the 1970s with coloured cashmere sweaters and now he has a full men’s and women’s collections sold in boutiques and high-end retailers across the world.
The feel of the fabrics are true luxury and the look is effortless European cool. Some say it’s a European version of Ralph Lauren, and I can see that, but it’s better. I forgot to mention, it costs a fortune!!
I was inspired to dress in my best Brunello on a budget look the other day and here’s what I came up with. Tan pants from Aritza, a white dress shirt, navy blazer from Zara, a grey scarf from H&M, and my all-time favourite vest from Joe Fresh. On sale now for $10 (no joke). I also wore lace-up booties from Spring, my vintage Coach bag, and my old man hat from Kensington Market. Voila! JD

So my interpretation of the Cougar boot look is less Urban Mexican and more Lazy Ontario Cottager. However, that would lead to you questioning the paved pathway and doubt my northern location. It is true…the jig it up! I am sitting in a park in Forest Hill. Also, I would never be wearing jeans at a cottage – just leggings and sweat pants for me!

Sometimes the best part of an outfit are the shoes. I found this pair at Winners on Bloor and I’m glad I bought them. I wasn’t sure if I’d wear them enough but I’ve been wearing them quite a bit this summer. The platform toe makes the 4 inch rise bearable…even though I’m convinced I’ll be in orthopedics in 5 years time.
These pants are by Wilfred from Aritzia and I love wearing them because they’re soft and comfortable. This top was purchased at a thrift store in Belgium for 4 Euro. I’m actually wearing it backwards because I didn’t feel like sporting a high neck. See what it looks like non-backwards here. Belt is also vintage from my mom’s closet. JD

I had an all American long weekend snowboarding at Holimont in the town of Ellicottville, NY. I also squeezed in a power shop at Walden Galleria and did some more snowboarding.

This is the chalet I stayed in. Kidding! Imagine though? I would’ve thrown a party with a 70′s ski theme. I actually stayed at The Edelweiss Lodge. It was cute, and just steps away from the main strip. I’d recommend it for a short getaway. By the way this amazing chalet can be yours for only $1.4 Million – it’s up for sale.

Main street. Lots of ski shops, taverns, buffalo chicken wings, and bars. The sight of old people rocking out in ski sweaters at The Gin Mill was inspiring.

I put these pins on my vest to make it look more legit. Plus my dad has this random ski pin collection from all the ski resorts he’s been to over the years and they were just sitting in a box doing nothing, so why not? I picked Tremblant, Whistler, and Lake Louise - go Canada!
