Loved it, loved it, loved it! I went to see Eat, Pray, Love this weekend and I absolutely loved it. I read the book and it’s exactly how I pictured it to be. Of course they don’t get into every single detail because it would just get too long, but overall, it was great and I think Julia Roberts was the perfect person to play Liz Gilbert.
For those of you that don’t know what this book/movie is all about – it’s a true story about a writer from New York (Liz Gilbert) who gets divorced, ends the next relationship she gets into, and decides to take one year of her life traveling to Italy, India, and Indonesia. She spends her time in Rome learning Italian, eating the best food of her life, drinking wine, laughing, and enjoying life to the fullest. She then heads to India where she’s challenged and frustrated by her meditation and yoga practice at an ashram. She cries a lot and reflects on her life and meets some interesting people. When she gets to Bali, there’s a sense of calmness and balance about her and she meets a certain someone – played by Javier Bardem. I’ll leave the rest to you, but trust me it’s very good. You laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll love the amazing shots of food, and most definitely you’ll leave the theatre feeling inspired. JD
